A documentary about Lilesville’s water tower
Working title · In development

Help tell the story of a familiar part of home.

As Lilesville prepares to say goodbye to its old water tower, I’m gathering stories, photographs, and home movies for a documentary told through the voices of the people who’ve lived alongside it.

Current and former residents, workers, visitors, and anyone with a connection to the tower are welcome. Everyday memories matter, whether you passed it on your way to school or could see it from your kitchen window.

What we’re collecting

  • Stories and memories
  • Photographs, including the tower in the background
  • Videos, home movies, and audio recordings
  • Documents and historical materials
  • Volunteers for resident interviews

Please include dates, places, names, and who created the material whenever you can. Estimates and uncertain details are welcome if you identify them.

About the filmmaker

I’m Amanda Pimenta, a writer and filmmaker who grew up in Lilesville. I helped open and maintain a local coffee shop and volunteered in the community. I want the people who’ve lived and worked here to carry this film through their own voices and memories.

Questions before you contribute?

Have physical photographs or home movies?

Keep your originals. Tell me what you have through the form or email me, and we’ll arrange a time to meet and discuss copying or digitizing them. Please don’t mail materials without an agreed arrangement.

How do I upload files?

Choose “Share photographs, videos, audio, or documents” in the form to reveal the upload button. Files can be up to 10 MB each. For larger files, provide a sharing link or email itsamandapimenta@gmail.com.

Unsure who owns the rights?

You can still share materials for research. Include what you know about their source. Unclear-rights materials won’t be used in the film or marketing until permission is separately clarified.

What happens after I submit?

I’ll review your contribution and may contact you about details, permissions, or an interview. Dates are still being arranged. Submitting doesn’t guarantee inclusion, and volunteering doesn’t commit you to filming.

You retain any ownership rights you hold and choose whether to grant permission for documentary and marketing use. The form explains the full terms, including potential commercial use. Your private contact details won’t be published without permission.
